More than 20 years the deep south of Thailand has been under martial law. Violent incidents have occurred over 21,000 times, with more than 7,200 people killed and 13,000 people injured. The number will increase and the state will control the area as red zones.

This work reflects people who were suffered, tortured and assaulted or forced disappearance by martial law in the southern border provinces of Thailand. The law is wielded in the name of national security to defend the unified Thai state. It has caused trauma and untold damage to many people.

There are people accused and arrested with impacts on their family members because heads of the family have lost their freedom. There are so many painful stories from the south-human suffering that crushes the heart of a stranger. Sadly, there is little space to talk about atrocities and abuses.

My aim is to question the justice system and its approach to the human rights of the victims, principally under the red area controlled by this law.
